Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Secure existing audiences and attract new ones. Based on actual count, membership increased by 10% of new members during the year. This was the result of a new campaign to attract new members with special behind-the-scenes tours. This also resulted in reclaiming several lapsed members. This year's exhibitions included the second-highest attendance in recent records, by actual count. 2: Present diverse exhibitions that present design in provocative ways. This year's exhibitions included the second-highest attendance in recent records, by actual count. It also included two traveling exhibitions, a doubling of previous years.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Activities related to securing existing audiences included expanding coverage in the print magazine of activities related to participation, providing visual verification of personal engagement. Exhibition audiences are reflective of the diversity of topics and each exhibition drew a unique and focused audience, providing the most effective means of attracting new viewers, participants, and members. 2: Both Redefining Redesigning Fashion and Rural Design: A New Design Discipline broke new ground in exhibition topics and design. Redefining Redesigning Fashion was an international juried/invitational exhibition that explored sustainability in apparel. Rural Design explored a new design area, parallel to urban design, and was printed on fabric banners. These banners were then secured to light-weight frames to form a low-security pop-up exhibition, designed to travel to rural locations as a community conversation-starter on issues related to rural development and culture.
