Increase publicity efforts and build awareness and attendance of main stage programming for local audiences. Main stage programming will focus on targeting new audiences with a goal of a 5% increase in new participants. Penumbra enters all ticket purchase and donation information into an internal database for the purposes of tracking ticket buyers and donors and evaluating trends. The increased use of social media and technology as marketing tools has aided in efforts to increase participation. 2: Expand Summer Institute into a more robust program with more classroom hours, and increase the number of local youth that participate in the program. The specific goal is to increase enrollment by 10%. Increase publicity efforts and build awareness of and participation with New Play Development programming. We will offer more public opportunities for engagement with New Play Development programming. The specific goal is to increase participation in Play Development programming by 5%.
Penumbra produced one main stage production in the spring of 2013, SPUNK by George C. Wolfe. Of the 5,736 total attendees for SPUNK 709 or 12% were new participants. New participants were defined as people who purchased tickets who had not purchased a ticket to a main stage production since the beginning of the records available. 2: Penumbra increased its recruiting efforts for its 2012 Summer Institute program which resulted in the admittance of a total of 39 students over the two tracks of the program. This represents an increase of 26 students or 33% over the previous year's programming. New Play Development programming was suspended in the fall of 2013 so the goal to increase participation by 5% was not met due to decreased opportunities for participation.
