Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

DSSO will increase the accessibility of performances to a wider audience by implementing new programming and marketing strategies. DSSO will evaluate accessibility through increased level of engagement of multi-generational attendees, with a specific emphasis on family inclusion. 2: DSSO will be fiscally responsible and pursue activities that maximize effectiveness and efficiently utilize resources. The Board and Executive Director will continue to monitor cash flow on a weekly basis with a twelve-month projection of spending and income. The Executive Director is also evaluating every vendor contract held by the organization.

Measurable Outcome(s)

In 2023-24 the Duluth Symphony performances included the Lake Superior Youth Chorus and the Youth Orchestra, which attracted a wider audience. In addition to the performances, which included the Youth Chorus and the Youth Orchestra, both our casual concerts included afternoon family options, free to children 17 and younger. Our attendance spikes when we include youth. 2: Through pursuing fiscal responsibility, the Duluth symphony came to the conclusion that we habitually over spend our budget and we will rectify this. Through weekly monitoring of both cash flow in and accounts payable out, as well as evaluating vendor contracts, subscriptions, and infrastructure resources, we realized that there is potential savings on all fronts. We will do better in the future.
