ACHF Arts Access
We will continue to adapt our programs as much as possible. As soon as staff is vaccinated we hope to bring back youth education programming and our partnership with Woodstone Senior Living. Covid-19 and our take home kits created a new partnerships with McLeod Domestic Violence Program and McLeod County Foodbank. We look forward to exploring new ways to work with these institutions to serve their clients in meaningful ways. We have re- branded and launched a new gift shop in an effort to expand earned revenue to make up for losses in facility rental income. The shop remains a space for local artists to sell their art/objects and also includes creative merchandise purchased wholesale and a partnership with a regional screen printer has designed Hutchinson Themed t- shirts and posters celebrating the Hutchinson Brothers. Through surveys of visual artists, success will be shown by: a. the artists' experiences with the Center are positive; b. the artists' works enjoy increased visibility; c. and artists create new works for their exhibits at the Art Center. Through event attendee surveys, success will be shown by: a. individuals attending multiple events in a year; b. the majority of surveys indicating that attendees enjoyed a positive experience at the Center; c. attendees indicating they are likely to attend future art events at the Art Center; d. and attendees are likely to recommend the Center to others. Staff and Board members will meet with each Partner group annually to ask for specific feedback, discuss areas for success, and assess areas for improvement concerning Partner benefits.
Our Visual Arts Exhibition series moved to in-person events and attendance rose nearly 50% by the end of the year. This increased visibility for exhibiting artists and it also provided opportunities for audience participation in arts and cultural events. The Center was able to retain all of our Partner Organizations through COVID by providing a Relief Grant to cover up to half of the partner dues required annually. Our gallery gift shop sales have drastically increased, indicating a heightened awareness of the Center and the intentionality of community members in supporting local artists. The Center was able to bring back in-person youth and adult educational programming, with 100% of the attendants voting their overall experience a 10/10 and would recommend the HCA to others.
