ACHF Arts Access
We will continue expanding the scope of our presentations to reflect our mission as a platform for cultural exchange, providing a space where artists are fully supported and have opportunities to stretch their capacity and challenge their abilities, and reaching out to other nonprofits and art administrators to learn about current best practices, resulting in a steady footing in providing the space, equipment, artist networks, and administrative structure. We plan to rebook our 2020 spring program for June 2022. One of our new goals is to design ways to have smaller or individual art experiences. We are offering performative art experiences for small audiences or audiences of one in a project called Art by Appointment. We are also hosting a monthly virtual Open Mic series which is livestreamed and available online on an ongoing basis. Follow-up Q and A discussion will take place after each theatrical performance to determine audience response. Audience surveys will be available at the front desk and handed to each patron with their ticket/program. Online surveys will be sent out via online tools Survey Monkey and Mail Chimp before and after each season to assess audience response to programming.
We measure success in attendance and community support. Taking into account our transition from playhouse to performance center and with the unpredictable nature of event planning during pandemic we considered this year as a time to establish a new brand and baseline by which to compare in following years. As our event offerings have slowly become more consistent so too has growth in attendance. We successfully presented the planned 1:1 Art by Appointment COVID safe art experiences offered from June into October. Our inaugural four-week Small Stages Artist Residency was a wonderful success. Our virtual open mic series was a hit with 90 minutes of local talent meeting and performing at each event, and it was the foundation for New London's first ever Porchfest celebration.
