Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Contribute to the vitality of our community by providing opportunities that may educate, entertain, and involve our constituents. We will offer high quality training, entertainment, and performance opportunities to advance artists skills, introduce new constituents to the arts, and offer ways for people to get involved. We will invest in services, programs, and practices to reduce barriers and encourage participation in the arts for youth and adults. People of all ages, ethnicities and abilities will have easier access to the arts. We gather statistical information on those that are viewing and/or directly participating in activities. We also have a strong networking presence in the community that allows us to monitor our impact as we stay in touch with what the community is talking about. The Playhouse continues to make a strong impression across multiple sectors of the region. Outcomes are documented through word-of-mouth feedback, growing participation, and statistical reports. Our popularity and reputation will continue to grow as a connector in the community that encourages synergy among people. 2: The Playhouse will provide jobs for artists and help new/emerging artists gain experience to further their skills. We will provide employment opportunities and give artists the tools and resources needed to succeed which will result in the highest caliber experiences for our audiences. The outcome will be measured by increased appreciation for arts. We will see an increase in attendance and a stronger base of contributed support from sponsors and donors. We document diversity in participation for all activities, whether an active participant or a patron to help us understand how our efforts to connect people through the arts has further increased inclusion and interaction among people. Our free preview performances are highly attended; and scholarships were in demand this past year, evidence that we are expanding accessibility and broadening participation levels. We have personal contact with our constituents through our activities and therefore can hands-on measure who is participating. This evaluation helps us understand what demographics we are successful reaching, and conversely, where we need to increase contact for better impact.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Arts are interwoven into every facet of community life. The Playhouse is a major contributor to the health and vitality of the daily lives of Minnesotans throughout the northeast region because of the diversity of programs and services we offer. With the mission to educate, entertain and involve the region, we have multiple entry points for people to connect with the arts. Through a broad spectrum of activities, including children's theatre, adult theatre, conservatory classes, and a second stage for emerging and experienced artists of all disciplines, we touch many lives. 2: People of all ages, ethnicities, and abilities can participate. We are committed to providing access to all. We do this by encouraging all to experience live theatre, whether as an audience member, working directly on productions, or becoming a teaching artist. The Playhouse offers an extremely versatile program of services and there is something for everyone. We serve as an entryway for first timers, and we provide advanced opportunities for those wanting to further their artistic skills. Our conservatory offers educational activities for newcomers and experienced performers. In our effort to be accessible we offer scholarships and internships so classes may be affordable to all. We offer free tickets to preview performances for over 30 service/community groups primarily targeting demographics that may not otherwise be able to come to the theatre. We provide for those in need of special services including assistance with hearing, and visually impaired. Our education program welcomes, and is practiced with incorporating Personal Care Attendants for children with special needs.
