To support artists in the creation and presentation of art in the public sphere, focusing on innovative uses of technology to imagine new interactions between audience, artwork, and place and explore expanded possibilities for civic engagement.

Innovative art that engages a broad public in relevant community issues is created and presented in the public sphere. Themes, issues and event sites will be relevant because we will develop them with community partners and artists. We will use surveys, attendance numbers and conversations with participants will determine relevance and engagement. 2: Artists and audiences experience ongoing impact of our programs due to a careful leadership transition and implementation of new revenue models. A newly finalized five year strategic plan will include benchmarks to assess impact, based on evaluations tools developed for years for NS, AOV and other projects. Diversified streams of revenue will signal success in moving towards sustainability.

NL?s artist and community partners chose a highly relevant theme for Northern Spark 2021 from community input. Zip codes and optional demographic data from audience surveys to online and broadcast programs determined broad public participation. 2: Artists and audiences experience ongoing impact of our programs due to a careful leadership transition and implementation of ONE new revenue model. NL implemented 1 new revenue model that will continue post-COVID NL?s Board created a 1 instead of 5 year strategic plan due to COVID Surveys from NS21 artists indicate positive impact from NL?s adjusted programs and leadership.
