Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

1. Present extraordinary exhibitions of work by Minnesota artists that foster artists' artistic growth, animate dialogue with the community, and enrich the visual arts culture of the state. 2. Expand and diversify our audience through concerted outreach efforts, strategic community partnerships, and innovative interpretive programs. 3. Experiment with innovative curatorial practices that challenge traditional notions of “curatorial authorship” and expand the “voice” of the organization. Evaluation surveys of visitors, members, artists, and community partners for both gallery exhibitions and related programming. Qualitative feedback from constituents and gallery book comments. Documentation of local, state, and national media coverage (quantity and critical perspectives). Measure diversity of Minnesota artists represented in gallery programs and exhibitions, membership numbers, program and attendance numbers, number of meaningfully-engaged community partners. Use evaluation surveys of exhibitions and related programs.

Measurable Outcome(s)

1. In an effort to better represent divergent voices in the Minnesota arts community, SooVAC created a diverse curatorial panel of Minnesota artists, including Andrea Carlson, Suzy Greenberg, Tamatha Perlma,n and Bruce Tapola. SooVAC established an outside exhibition program at local businesses. Evaluation was based on increased submissions, audience, and larger exposure for local artists. 2. Advancing Soo's commitment to accessibility and diversity, exhibited artists from Spectrum ArtWorks living with mental illness. SooVAC partnered with organizations that value the importance of creating opportunities for all Minnesotans, including Minneapolis College of Art and Design, mnartists.org, and Northern Spark. Evaluation included feedback from partners, artists, and community, and demonstrated increased diversity of artists and audiences at SooVAC. 3. SooVAC exhibited over fifty Minnesota emerging artists. Highlights were SooFUZE and Untitled. 8. Evaluation included feedback from artists, visitor surveys, attendance, and press coverage.
