ACHF Arts Access
1. Continue and expand partnerships to increase and make accessible the arts for youth, families, and adults in Saint Paul’s East Side. 2. Collaborate with community to offer programs that mirror the diversity of our neighborhoods. 3. Explore program ideas for underrepresented arts participants, such as senior citizens, and expand work with out-of-school-day art programs for at-risk youth. 4. Actively participate in community development initiatives providing expertise and knowledge of both artists and the community. 5. Provide jobs for artists and new arts administrators; offer training in program design, community work, and grant writing. Use program evaluations.
East Side Arts Council increased its work with partners to make the arts accessible for youth, families and adults living in the East Side of Saint Paul. More than 1,300 free art classes were held at city recreation centers, and after-school sites at schools and other community sites. Free concerts were held at Phalen Lake Amphitheater, and the Council gallery featured local artists' exhibits art sales. East Side Arts Council serves on the design committee of Beacon Bluff, a development project on the East Side of Saint Paul, bringing art to everyday life and open spaces in our community. The Artmobile brought free drop-in art classes to ten sites over eight weeks during the summer, reaching youth whose families could not afford summer camps. KidVenture art camps for K-5 and ArtVenture art camps for junior high students offered eight weeks of art activities.
