MPCA Water Monitoring Unit Field Activities 2011
This project supports monitoring and assessment activities by MPCA EAO staff and includes lab analysis, equipment, and fieldwork expenses associated with monitoring and assessment activities.
Lake Monitoring: Lakes are monitored for nutrients, clarity and other information to provide the data needed to assess the aquatic recreation use support.
Biological and Water Chemistry Stream Monitoring: Monitoring to assess the conditions of streams in each watershed. Monitoring includes biological (fish and invertebrates), chemical (nutirents, sediments, etc.) and physical (habitiat) measurements.
Major watershed load monitoring (Watershed-Statewide): The major watershed load monitoring effort provides data on water quality conditions and trends for Minnesota's major rivers and their main tributaries.
Ambient wetland monitoring: The goals of the ambient wetland monitoring effort are to assess status and trends of wetland conditions.
