Project Overview

This project supports monitoring and assessment activities by MPCA EAO staff and includes lab analysis, equipment, and fieldwork expenses associated with monitoring and assessment activities within the described priority watersheds.

Lake Monitoring: Lakes are monitored for nutrients, clarity and other information to provide the data needed to assess the aquatic recreation use support.

Biological and Water Chemistry Stream Monitoring: Monitoring to assess the conditions of streams in each watershed. Monitoring includes biological (fish and invertebrates), chemical (nutrients, sediments, etc.) and physical (habitat) measurements.

Watershed Pollutant Load Monitoring Network: (Watershed-Statewide): The watershed pollutant load monitoring effort provides data on water quality conditions and trends for Minnesota's major rivers and their main tributaries.

Ambient wetland monitoring: The goals of the ambient wetland monitoring effort are to assess status and trends of wetland conditions.
