Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Five sub-genres of jazz will be performed, and visual artists will represent five or more art forms. The number of Minnesota artists involved is ninety or more. We will tally the different number of musical sub-genres performed, number of music performers and visual display artist who participate and compare to our objectives and past Fest results. 2: Achieve attendance of 15,000 over the event, with many attendees from the neighborhood, an underserved market. Evaluation methods included traditional crowd observations, discussions with vendors and security, comparisons to past festivals.

Measurable Outcome(s)

2013 1) Variety-Objective: Five jazz sub-genres performed. Outcome: SAJF music artists performed seven jazz sub genres--New Orleans, big-band, traditional/classic, spoken word w/ jazz backing music, smooth jazz-saxophone, keyboard/organ, blues/jazz hybrid. 2) Visual Display Artists-Objective: 20 displaying/demonstrating five forms. Outcome: 30 displaying/demonstrating seven+ forms including jewelry, textiles, carving, painting, photography, pottery, ceramics. 3) Number of Minnesota Artists Involved In the Project-Objective: 90+. Outcome: 96 Minnesota artists involved. Evaluation methods: tabulated musical performer genres, number of display artists and forms, tallied number of Minnesota-based artists. 2: We didn't make our attendance objectives which is the first time since 2007 when again, the weather played a role in less people stopping by than anticipated. Things were on a roll...at 4 PM, Fest grounds were as packed as they've been in our twelve year history.
