Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Lyngblomsten seeks to involve more than 80 Minnesota artists in showcasing their talents and actively engaging participants in various art forms. All participating artists will be recorded. All requests for further information of artists and arts organizations will be documented and counted (see evaluation section). 2: The Lyngblomsten Mid-Summer Festival will be attended by more than 2,000 community members, including more than 400 older adults with limited mobility. Attendees will be counted and identified by age categories for festival attendance and at various art performances and activities. Comparisons will be made to previous festival years.

Measurable Outcome(s)

The number of adult Minnesota artists doubled from 2012 to 2013 (96 artists in 2013 vs 48 in 2012). Thirteen arts partners drew from their broad range of resources, providing our primarily Caucasian population with culturally diverse art forms in performance, demonstrations, exhibits and workshops. In addition, 60 youth artists performed, which created a true intergenerational experience for all. 2: Total attendance was 1500 (even with 2012 attendance, and down 25% from projected 2013 plans); the official area heat advisory was the lead cause. While we did not increase attendee participation, we did increase volunteer support 26% over the previous year (from 250 to 315) and were well staffed and prepared for at least 2000 attendees. Artists and attendees commented how well organized it was and how much they enjoyed the event. The deaf community could be more involved; seven ASL interpreters were available, and signage directed people to the interpreters who were scattered throughout the grounds. Our accessible setting made it possible for older adults and disabled communities to participate.
