Minnesota Festival Support
ACHF Cultural Heritage
The variety and number of folk and traditional arts and artists that are presented through festivals increases. The number of Minnesotans who experience the arts through festivals increases. We track the number of performers and new performers from year to year, and evaluate our success based on bringing in new artists.
There were ten different performing, music, and dance groups, and six visual artists participating in the 2012 festival, with a total of ninety-four individual artists participating. We chose only Minnesota artists to be a part of our event. The committee works hard to find artists who are different from year to year and to include both youth and adult performers. Youth performers bring more people to the festival, including their families. 2: We presented the festival at a great indoor space within the Burnsville Performing Arts Center. The event went very well and the attendees rated the festival well. We increased our public relations and marketing efforts, using social media, e-mail marketing, advertising in local newspapers, and Spanish radio and printed advertising. While only one survey response indicated the radio as the source of information about the festival, we had a large number of Spanish speaking residents at the event. The event went very well and the attendees rated the festival well.
