The City of Lakes Loppet Festival will engage thirty-one local artists to present an interactive ice music concert, a soul music band, a rotating ice spire forest, and a family of performing penguin puppets during its 2020 Luminary Loppet event.

Participants will feel a greater connection with, and appreciation for, their community, especially within the context of living in Minnesota in the winter. All participants will be surveyed, via an emailed online survey, immediately after the event. Results will be analyzed and shared with event committee to will inform planning for the next year. 2: Expand participants' appreciation for the creativity of diverse local artists, and their notion of the possibilities and potential for winter art. Yes. 83% of survey respondents said the LL makes them feel connected to the community, and 97.4% said it helps them appreciate the beauty of Minnesota winter. We emailed a post-event survey to participants, and received about 405 responses. The two statements above were included in the survey. Participants could select Strongly Agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree or Strongly Disagree. 2: Yes. 88.4% of respondents said LL helped them appreciate the creativity of local artists, and 86.3% said it expanded their appreciation for winter art.
