$100,000 the first year is to Martin County to design and construct a memorial to those who have served in the military of the United States of America and those who have died in the line of duty. The appropriation is not available until the commissioner of management and budget has determined that at least an equal amount has been committed to the project from nonstate sources to complete the project.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The public response from veterans, residents and visitors to the memorial will be very favorable. Their visitation will be a good emotional experience. Martin County Veterans memorial visitors will be educated about our veterans who served. Visitors will recongnize and admire the dedication and sacrifices of county men & women who served in Armed Forces. The solemn beauty of our Martin County veterans memorial will inspire the counties previous, current residents and visitors. Our Martin County Veterans Memorial will become a popular atraction for visitors and Martin County will have a positive economic outcome as a resullt of the visitors.
