Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

To test the efficacy of various marketing and outreach efforts around a specific exhibit, to glean information that will inform future efforts. To use the exhibition as a foundation for an arts curriculum for K-12 students, with a focus on reaching at-risk youth. To encourage attendance of out-of-school adults, with a focus on senior citizens and non-members. To test ôteaching momentö opportunities for out-of-school adults, ranging from guided tours to gallery talks to web-based information. An exit survey will provide the opportunity for patrons to express their overall reaction to the exhibition. The survey will include items about the respondentÆs age range, prior museum attendance, reaction to educational materials and how they heard about the exhibit. Goals: 50 percent or more of those completing the survey will state that they had a positive experience, and will express their positive reactions to the museum overall, the education opportunities and the marketing/advertising campaign. To assess and refine our K-12 outreach efforts, we will ask teachers to provide us with a brief summary of post-museum tour class discussion. Teachers will receive a set questions for the students (which they may expand upon for their own curriculum purposes) and will be asked to respond to us via email. This will help us understand what resonates with students. While a goal is that 50 percent or more of the students will state that they had a positive experience, weÆre also looking for anecdotal evidence that will help us formulate future school tours and educational materials.

Measurable Outcome(s)

The exhibit was overwhelmingly well-received - more than 75% reported a positive arts experience. Half of visitors learned of the exhibit through radio ads and print ads. About 10% noticed the billboards. Many of the remainder could/did not identify how t
