Land Addition to Janet Johnson Memorial WMA
Attempted to Acquire 108.5 acres of land adjacent to the 555 acre Janet Johnson WMA. The land is a mix of forest (29 acres), wetlands (35 acres on the NWI), and agriculture (44.5 acres).
Acquisition failed due to land seller not agreeing with the appraised value of the parcel.
$577,000 the first year is to the commissioner of natural resources for an agreement with Chisago County to acquire land in fee to be added to the Janet Johnson Memorial Wildlife Management Area under Minnesota Statutes, section 86A.05, subdivision 8. A list of proposed land acquisitions must be provided as part of the required accomplishment plan.
This program attempted to complete an acquisition that failed.
