This event will bring people together to celebrate, craft, community, fermentation and celebrate the end of winter, spring and beginning of summer. Many of the craftspeople in our region spend countless hours honing their craft through the winter months. This can be daunting without something to look forward to. This event will celebrate the makers of Lincoln Park, share food knowledge about fermentation and allow the artists to share their works from the winter and possibly sell some of those to kick off the new season of making, art fairs etc. This event will also show Duluth Grill as a viable venue for these kinds of community connections/art shows, as they have supported local artists and makers for many years. With their new hours, it frees up the space for early evening events. This event will enrich the people who attend with a multitude of knowledge, supporting local artists while getting out of the house and the long winter months. *note: we may have a local music group or solo act perform (but that hasn't been coordinated yet). The goal of this event is to celebrate our craft community in Lincoln Park, showcase Duluth Grill as a new venue for such events, dedicate the sculpture I've worked so hard on as a permanent artwork in front of Duluth grill, have the opportunity for our craft community to sell their works and showcase the artworks they've created all winter, and celebrate with some local fermented foods and beverages. An overarching goal that I have is that this could become an annual event. The measurable outcomes will be: Dedication of the fermentation sculpture, determine if our local craftspeople can sold their wares/artworks, have business cards and promotional materials for the local fermented food makers, and to decompress the showcase after the fact with Tom Hanson, his team, and the artists to analyze how things went, set goals, make changes etc. I have participated in many group exhibitions and juried shows throughout my artistic career and I've been working on this particular show since the fall of 2021. I coordinated the first ever duo show (after being in the group shows) at the Prove gallery- "Master Meme" 2012. "Clay and Chaos: Imagined Vessels of the Sea Peoples" ? Macrostie Arts Center, Grand Rapids, MN. Collaborative show with Ashley Hise showcasing our individual pottery/sculptures and a collaborative sculpture. Nov. 5th-Jan. 1st 2021. 53rd Annual NCECA Conference 2019- "Mengei-Sota" 03/25/19-4/25/19- Ceramic Art Exhibition. Showcasing my body of work: Fermentation Vessels. 2011-2019- DAI Annual Member Show- Photography, Ceramics, Paintings etc. NAEA 2016-17 and 207-18 Nationally Juried Show: Selected as one of 69 out of over 200 finalists. "Onggi-O" and "Splash" stoneware fermentation crocks on display in W. Virginia at the NAEA Headquarters. I will measure the outcomes/goals by meeting with all those involved including the owner of Duluth Grill and staff involved to take notes and get feedback. All participating artists will turn in a spreadsheet of number of pieces sold and prices for each piece. We will check in with any participating fermented food vendors involved to see how they feel the event went for them. We will strive to utilize social media to post and get hashtags about the event/title. We will determine the success based on the time of evening, date, acknowledge any competing events etc. All participants and the event coordinator will meet to determine if this should become an annual event and how we can critically analyze the data to make it even more successful/ beneficial to the community. I will share this information with ARAC as well as posting the support of ARAC on all publicized media, posters and invitations etc.
