Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Through live performances of our new musical works, we offer a space for our community to gather and engage with us, our music, and each other. As the majority of the band's members identify with the LGBTQIA2S+ community, we seek to create a welcoming and comforting space for everyone through our vulnerability and honest reflection of our own experiences in our lyrics and attitude on and off the stage.; Baharat will complete the recording of a studio album, composed of six original musical works that highlight the various stylistic backgrounds of its five members, to be released on 3 major streaming platforms. (Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music) We will aim to complete the project by June 15th. I have experience organizing musicians for a common goal. I founded and conducted the United International College Wind Band in Zhuhai, China. Through the group's hard work and my leadership, we made our debut performance at Zhuhai Cultural Center, Gongbei Theater. Through this process, I learned to develop my voice as a leader and speaker for the group. In Duluth I joined a band under the name Lyla Abukhodair. In 2022 we completed the recording of our first full length album, ?Scream?. Through this process we learned to better organize our ideas and communicate our needs with each other and our producer. Now as the songs for our current project, "Baharat", are already written to completion, we are prepared and eager to record and release them. ; Our goals will be assessed based on their completion relative to the date highlighted in the goal statement. If all goals are completed on or before June 15, we will have had success. We will determine to what degree the project was a success based on which and how many of the aforementioned streaming platforms the album is posted on.
