Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The album will be made with a wider audience in mind. It's music that you can listen to while doing other things as well as the kind you could listen to as you lay on the bed with your eyes closed hearing the swishing of one instrument panning to the left and then to the right. Instrumental music is broader in emotional perception. You can feel sad for the man who lost his love in a lyrical song or you can feel sadness for your own personal reasons with an instrumental. This flexibility is what will give the greatest benefit to my community. It's for working out, dancing, swaying, and dreaming as well as writing, painting, or catching up with a workload. Listening to music can directly touch your soul. I create music to do just that. To reach out to people in a profound and inspiring way. To express humanity and love through harmony and dissonance. We all have so much emotion that nothing but art can begin to reflect what we feel. I live to express what can't be said in words through different pitches and pulses. In a world with hundreds of thousands of musicians and millions of songs, I know I have ideas that need to be heard. I've spent my time learning what makes music powerful. What scales bring a certain emotion to life, what progressions give the feeling of impending doom or hope, and what syncopation of a beat makes you feel like getting lost in the rhythm for a while? I have songs inside me that need to be written and I know there are people who want to hear them.; I will create 12 instrumental songs (a full-length album) that are: Written using synth/keyboard as well as traditional instruments Use themes that are dramatic, suspenseful, and have horror elements Made with the software used in a creative way to get the most feeling out of unique sounds. Created with excellence and are in line with my artistic vision Continue my influences from downtempo, fusion, psychedelic rock, and funk I will have a created full instrumental album that: Is written, recorded, and mixed in the best quality I can Released and available for sale by May 28th, 2024 Is complete with album art and YouTube audio videos I will have an audience and a way to measure my success by having a social media presence by: Uploading my music to sites such as YouTube, Bandcamp, and CDBaby's distribution Spending time daily growing my presence by posting quality content Tracking feedback with analytics that are built into social media Assessing my listener's feedback I've gone through this exact process many times before. I've recorded songs with time constraints and budget concerns in the past. Having written and recorded hundreds of songs, I have more than enough experience to achieve my goals. This project requires a person who spends an unreasonable amount of time writing, rehearsing, and mixing. I am and have been that person for the last 40 years. I wake up every morning driven to continue to move forward in my craft. I have the skills to be successful. I will create this album no matter what, this grant will just allow me to give it the full attention and quality that I know it deserves. Since my previous grant, I have created a band, released multiple albums, created artwork for each individual song, sold albums online, and made music videos to promote my music. The first grant I received has led me to do all of this. I know that I could thrive with this project because of the success I've already had with the last one.; When my music has an increase of 30% more synth instruments and keyboard tracks, I will be successful in my goal of integrating these sounds into my style. I have many stages of writing a song. The progression and layout of each song are written on paper and then multiple tracks are recorded and created and then added to a final mix days later. The vision behind my idea of taking a more thematic approach will start with chord progressions that are created with the ideas of drama and suspense in mind. I will be successful when my music will have a 20% increase in these chord progressions and melodic ideas. I have 235 subscribers on YouTube. I will know if I was successful if I can double this number by the final release of my album by May 28th, 2024. I will assure my success by posting often, creating engaging music artwork, and continuing to promote my YouTube channel on Social Media. I can also measure my success by the release date taking place by May 28th, 2024.
