Project Details
Minnesota Chinese Dance Theater will present folk dance classes taught by its artistic director and two artists from China. They will also present their annual concert, Western Songs and Dances of China, at O'Shaughnessy Auditorium in the fall of 2013.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

This project will provide authentic Chinese dance lessons led by highly qualified instructors, and the concert will feature a Chinese folk singer. The outcome will be achieved when the two master artists from China have arrived and taught representative folk dances from the western regions of China and the concert is performed featuring a folk vocalist of the highest quality. 2: Lead by the China National Class-One artists, the dance classes will attract more students. With the featured singer, more people will come to the concert. The outcome will be achieved if more students sign up for the dance classes and more audience members attend the concert, thus increasing Minnesota Chinese Dance Theater's income. The vocalist will increase Minnesota Chinese Dance Theater's visibility and help Minnesota Chinese Dance Theater become a community leader.

Measurable Outcome(s)

This project will provide authentic Chinese dance lessons led by highly qualified instructors. The concert will feature a Chinese folk singer. This objective was achieved by Minnesota Chinese Dance Theater (Minnesota Chinese Dance Theater) had successfully invited two master artists from China to Minnesota. Each instructor had taught her representative folk dances from the western regions of China and the concert was performed featuring the folk vocalist is the highest quality. 2: Lead by the China Class-One artists, the dance classes will attract more students. With the feature singer, more people will come to the concert. This objective was achieved by Minnesota Chinese Dance Theater seeing a 25% increase of class enrollment. The vocalists which Minnesota Chinese Dance Theater invited to perform at the concert had helped promoting the concert. A 15% increase of ticket sales was observed.
