Folk and Traditional Arts
ACHF Cultural Heritage
Hmong Cultural Center will serve a combined total of at least 75 youth and adults with instruction in orally recited marriage and funeral ceremonies, in classes on weekend mornings over the project period. Hmong Cultural Center will closely track student enrollment and attendance over the entire project period in order to assess the extent that the Cultural Customs program is meeting its service goal projections and achieving this outcome.
In a very substantive way, Hmong Cultural Center increased the number of Hmong Minnesotans who participated in folk and traditional arts activities. The grant from the MN State Arts Board allowed the organization to continue to offer to the community its unique traditional Hmong Wedding and Funeral Song Classes on Sunday mornings. The intended outcomes were measured by the compilation of student attendance data.
