Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The variety and number of folk and traditional arts activities in which Minnesotans can participate increases. The number of Minnesotans who participate in folk and traditional arts activities increases. The number of Minnesotans who teach or learn folk and traditional art forms increases.

Measurable Outcome(s)

In our session of the workshops (poetry, music, and storytelling) we set out to educate and introduce art in Somali culture to the community. This is to Somalis and non-Somalis. In doing so we wanted others to have an understanding and insight on how and what art is in the Somali culture. There are not many traditional art activities within the community, and in being able to showcase this in this project, we as an organization were given the opportunity to allow community members to get involved and learn more about folk and traditional art forms as they relate to Somali culture. The project outcomes were as follows: the variety and number of folk and traditional art activities in which Minnesotans can participate increases, the number of Minnesotans who participated in folk and traditional art activities increases, and the number of Minnesotans who teach and lean traditional art forms increases. The outcomes were achieved by getting feedbacks and high participations. 2: The number of Minnesotans who participated in folk and traditional art activities increased by more than 20% of our target. This was done by heavy marketing of the program. During each workshops, surveys were given to participants and evaluated. Their feedback was used for future sessions as well.
