New Arab American Theater Works will create an Arabic Drum Ensemble group led by artist Khaldoun Samman with the purpose of training community members in a traditional cultural form to perform for the community.

Community members will be trained in traditional Arabic drumming over six months in order to perform three 60 minute concerts for the community. This will be evaluated through progress of musicians in learning the art form, community involvement, and response and the completed presentation of three concerts.
Community members will be trained in traditional Arabic drumming over six months in order to perform three 60 minute concerts for the community. We produced a video because we were not allowed to perform in public. We sent out a questionnaire to people who watched the video to evaluate impact on audience and guage interest.
