Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The rail system will allow us to invite visual artists to show their work on a regular basis, minimize installation time and fees, and attract more foot traffic to our door. As we make changes to our space and policies to advocate, accommodate and support artists with disabilities it is our hope that this exhibition will encourage others to show work done by those who are disabled, instill a deeper appreciation of art-making and its role in individual and community wellbeing, and plant a seed of possibility for artists who want to show their work in New London but have not yet had an outlet. Art sales also has potential to become a regular revenue stream for Crow River Players as we act as curator of artist's works and point of contact for the art buyer. We can measure the success of this project by viewers, sales and/or by the increase in the number of artists we have on display as the year progresses.

Measurable Outcome(s)

We have been able to measure the impact of this additional lighting because there is much less time spent setting lights for shows now that the new lights are put in. We have also been able to book higher quality shows that we haven't been able to bring in the past, due to being able to offer the lighting they need. There will be substantial cost savings for the Friends at programmed events at MAPAC because we won't have to rent extra lighting for performances. The less expense involved in performances, the more performances the Friends of the Auditorium will be able to produce at MAPAC. Of course, the more performances, the greater the outreach to more audiences. We verbally surveyed the technical staff from performances who have used the new lighting and they definitely felt that it helped to produce a better visual show and made it much easier to do show prep.
