The goal of this project is for participants realize that they have it within their power to be published writers. Every person has the capacity to express themselves creatively, and it's never been easier to distribute creative works in a professional format than it is now. I hope that this project helps participants achieve a new level of artistic confidence. Ideally, they'll be able to put this project on their resume, proudly share their work with family and friends, and use this as a springboard for more creative writing projects. This grant will ensure that the marketing, editing, and releasing of this publication will not be done at a financial loss for me. This grant will help sustain me financially while engaging in arts activities with creative Minnesotans. Writing and publishing are enormous passions of mine. While the process is somewhat difficult, I think it's never been easier to publish a creative work than it is now. I'll use what I've learned about the independent publishing process to guide the project, and release other people's work in a professional format that they can be proud of. I want Northlanders to see that anyone can engage in creative writing, regardless of their level of experience. Writing is open to everyone, and anyone can be a writer! I'd like to reiterate that I will not profit from the sale of other people's work. The publication will be released as a completely not-for-profit book. Physical copies will sold for no more than the cost of printing, and ebooks will be distributed for free. This project will be a success if it can help the participants grow artistically and/or professionally. To asses the project's success, I will check in with contributors in the months following the release of the publication. I'll ask the following question: 1) Has participating in this project encouraged you to start other creative writing projects' 2) Has being published helped boost your confidence? 3) Have you been able to use this project to bolster your resume, or get involved in other arts activities' I will consider this project a success if the participants are able to answer yes to one or more of these questions.
