Gloria Brush: Brush is professor in photography at the University of Minnesota Duluth and earned an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has received awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, Minnesota State Arts Board, Bush Foundation, and McKnight Foundation, among others. Her work has appeared in exhibitions nationally and internationally, including at the Photographic Resource Center at Boston University, the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, Lil Street Gallery in Chicago, and D-ART Gallery for the IV2020 International Symposium on Digital Art, and in Rosenblum?s book A History of Women Photographers. Prior to her university tenure, she was the first director of the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council.; Zachary Colby: For five seasons, Colby served as an artistic codirector and tenor with Cantus, an eight-member vocal chamber ensemble based in the Twin Cities. After teaching at the University of Nebraska Omaha for three years, Colby is now the development manager at Cantus. Colby holds a bachelor of music education from Butler University (Indianapolis, IN) and a master?s and doctorate in voice from the University of Minnesota.; Georgette Jones: Jones teaches and has directed performing arts activities in public schools. She attended Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall for theater arts and communication arts education. Jones performs regionally with her singing partner, Lee Kanten. She has served on the board of directors for Southwest Minnesota Arts Council, as well as several other local arts organizations.; Karen McCray: McCray is the PhD and certificate programs coordinator for the school of nursing at the University of Minnesota, where they work with students from admissions through graduation. They work with faculty to review applications for admission following the school's holistic review process, McCray was previously the disability support coordinator for DigiPen Institute of Technology. They graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in history and a music minor as well as earning a BFA in interior design from Design Institute of San Diego. Most recently they volunteered with the Seattle Symphonic Band on the planning committee.; Erin McMillan: McMillan is a freelance writer and editor with an MFA from Rutgers University and an MA from Bemidji State University. She taught writing at the university level for several years and, while in Bemidji, served on the editorial board of the student literary magazine. Previously, McMillan was the director of the Becker County Historical Society in Detroit Lakes. She has volunteered with the Anishinaabe Cultural Center in Detroit Lakes and the Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge, and has served as an arts mentor for the Lakes Region Arts Council.; Vanessa Reubendale: Reubendale recently completed her PhD in art history at the University of Minnesota. Her dissertation, ?Please Hold While I Connect You,? considered the emergence of intermedia performance in midcentury America as it aligned with parallel labors in the telecommunications industry in order to trouble the art history canon. She has taught classes on American photography, performance art, and the history of public funding and art controversies in the U. S. In 2019, she completed a residential fellowship at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American art and, in 2020, cochaired a panel at CAA?s annual conference on labor and participatory art.

I will engage Minnesotans through organizing and participating in a reading of queer authors, and hosting an open mic for queer community members. Evaluation will be based on the number of Minnesotans that attend the reading and participate in the open mic and the feedback they provide regarding the impact of the experience
