Tiny School of Art partnered with Raising a Farmer and the Morrison County Historical Society to create the theme of the mural of things, people and places that are important to Morrison County, bridging the urban/rural divide in the arts communities. In addition to the mural there will also be local artists demonstrating pottery, wool spinning, felting, woodworking and black smithing. , , Clogging is a truly American dance from that began in the Appalachian Mountains and now enjoys widespread popularity throughout the U.S. and around the world. Appalachians were settled in the mid 1700?s by the Irish, Scottish, English and Dutch-German. The folk dances of each region met and began to combine in an impromptu foot tapping style. This new style of dance became clog dancing as we know it today. The dance is accompanied by rousing fiddle and bluegrass music. As clogging made its way to the flatlands other influences began to shape the new dance. With the infusion of Cherokee Indians, African and Russian Gypsies dance styles, clogging has evolved creating a true melting pot of step dances. Clogging evolved as an individual form of expression using their feet as an instrument making rhythmic and percussive sounds to accompany the music. At the turn of the 20th century many cloggers began to add this step dance to square dancing. , , Haybale art contest: Bales are purchased and placed around the fair grounds.
