County Fair Legacy Project
1. SECOND EDITION OF McLEOD COUNTY FAIR HISTORY: 1993 through 2022 for our 150th Celebration. Our Legacy project is a continuation of documenting our agricultural association's history. The first edition of the book covered our beginning years in the late 1800's up through 1992. This second edition book will cover the years of 1993 - 2022, the year of our 150th Celebration. This important documentation of our past will preserve our agricultural history in our community and serve as the foundation of the legacy that we will carry on for future generations.
2. R.J. Kern is a Minnesota Agricultural Photographer, based out of Minneapolis, MN who presents and demonstrates the history of agricultural photography and the tin-type photography process. He will be offering six 30 - minute presentations over the course of 2 days. We are excited to offer this educational opportunity to our fair attendees as part of our educational presentations offered throughout our 4-day fair.
HISTORY BOOKS: We expect that 500 copies of our history book will be printed for distribution. We will take inventory of any books that are remaining to measure the number of recipients we connected to with this project within our first year of distribution.
R.J. KERN PRESENTATIONS: We estimate that at least 30 people will attend each presentation offered during the 2 days. We will assign a volunteer to take attendance as people are seated during the presentations for an attendee count.
