County Fair Legacy Project
This year's grant dollars will be used for 3 different events at our county fair:
1) Woodsman Axe - Attendees will see how to throw the Axe plus be able to try it themselves! Along with that they will learn the history of Axe throwing.
2) Singing Pines of Cambridge - music of the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's.
3) Caricatures (2 individuals) - These two individuals will be drawing black and white caricatures for our attendees. Attendees will be able to come and have their caricature done free for them, while others will be able to watch and see the skills of these artists.
Proposed outcome from the above events is to expose attendants to the arts, history and culture of our area and our state, along with exposing them to different arts and activities that they may want to become part of. We will be taking attendance at each event to measure those that were able to take part in the event to those that walk through the event to stop and watch or listen.
1) Woodsman Axe - Projected attendance of 300 - 400 individuals if not more;
2) Singing Pines of Cambridge - Projected attendance of 100-150;
3) Professional Caricaturists - Projected attendance of 96 caricaturists as they can do 1 approx. every 5 minutes - Individuals checking it out asking questions or attending 100.
Our volunteers will be asking everyone at these events what they thought of this event so we can evaluate the success of this event. They will also be asked what time of artists, agriculture and history they would like to see at our county fair. We can evaluate what we need to do in the future for these grants to expand everyone's knowledge.
