County Fair Legacy Project
With the Legacy Project, we intend to use the funds to purchase:
-- "Chalk Animals"- Chalk animals will be a combination of Animals from Plywood cut outs that we paint with chalkboard paint. They will be available around the fairgrounds for kids to use sidewalk chalk to color and embrace their creativity. These will be erasable and reuseable for years to come!
-- Balloon Animal Artist - We will hire Balloons with Kevin, a balloon artist as apart of our Kids Day Program.
-- Arts Building Lean-To - We are looking to build a lean-to off one of our existing buildings for our arts area. In the past we have always rented a tent, but the cost of the tent has gone from $1,000 to $4,000 per year. All events hosted in this area are art based (magician, cake demos, painters, teen dance, etc.) and are free of charge for people to attend.
Our proposed outcome is to increase fair attendance with emphasis on the arts of Minnesota. Chalk Animals measurable outcomes will be gauged by notes of how busy the station is - we will have volunteers monitoring how much chalk we are going through at a time to gauge the amount of kids participating.
Balloons By Kevin- We will have Kevin keep track of how many kids he is able to assist with Balloon making items.
Arts Tent- We will be able to measure outcomes by the amount of people at each show: Magician- We typically see about 100 people per show (we will have the magician do a head count at the shows)- We are planning 9 shows, Teen Dance- Typically around 150 kids (We will ask the DJ to count), Cake Demonstration- Expecting about 100 people- will ask demonstrator to keep track).
