Funds will provide operating support to Heartland Arts over a two year period.

Partnering with Heartland Lakes Development Commission and Hubbard County DAC, Heartland Arts will support a makers space or spaces by promoting their use, helping to find artist instructors and when feasible paying artist instructors a stipend from this great award. Evaluation methods include interviews with participants during use of makers spaces and with staff at the end of the year. Questions will include how participants learned about makers spaces, how use is helping them develop skills and how they plan to put those skills to use. Staff will be asked what they have learned about community needs for job skills that makers spaces might fulfill and whether or not they have seen entrepreneurs start a business as a result.
