Funding for the commission and performance of a new work by Minnesota composer Dr. Timothy Mahr. The composition will be premiered at the Brooklyn Park Tater Daze festival in June 2013.

The new composition "Golden Opportunities" was performed at a community festival; the band found the piece to be challenging and rewarding to play; audiences number 1475 at multiple performances which was an increase over estimated
