We now have a viable and clear plan for accessioning and de-accessioning that will permit our History Center Committee to solicit appropriate items for our collection and handle them ethically, explain to possible donors whose items we cannot include why we cannot include them, provide a clear path for our archivist in terms of cataloging and preservation, and provide standards for controversial accessions. When our interpretive planning steps are completed, we should be ready to collect for a living and meaningful museum.
