SHAPESHIFT will perform Grey Skies Blue for cross generational audiences and people from different backgrounds in several greater Minnesota communities.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Small-town residents will acquire greater appreciation for the universal emotional expression of hip-hop through engagement with SHAPESHIFT dancers. Surveys will measure the audiences' knowledge of contemporary hip-hop storytelling, the impactful nature of SHAPESHIFT'S emotive performance, and if the communicative performance broke the stereotype of hip-hop. SHAPESHIFT will work with a professional ev 2: SHAPESHIFT aims to evoke thoughtful responses to universal themes of love, friendship, and social injustice to promote inclusion among diverse people. Post-show talks backs, presenter feedback surveys, and SHAPESHIFT direct audience surveys will provide key information such as if audiences want to see SHAPESHIFT perform again, how it inspired them, and how this experience changed their perceptions.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Residents of Saint Cloud and Faribault acquired appreciation of hip-hop given feedback from participants who attended our workshops and performances. We utilized post-performance discussions/emails with our audiences to elicit their real time thoughts and feelings about how certain pieces of Grey Skies Blue impacted them and/or made them feel. And we followed comments made on our Facebook page. 2: We stimulated serious dialog between us and patrons about social justice issues, police misconduct and the need for equity and inclusion. Given the unpredictable conditions we had to face In dealing with all the impacts of Covid, we conducted our evaluations via small group discussions, talkbacks, emails, and comments on our social media platforms.
