Rochester Art Center will present Soomaal House of Art to provide these artists, united by an ambition and devotion to create consequential artwork that investigates the visual representation of its community, the opportunity to share their work with Rochester.

Minnesotans will be exposed to the art of one of the largest Somali diasporas in the US, engaging, growing and learning with this Minnesota community. Working closely with Soomaal and Rochester community members, RAC will create an exit survey to help visitors reflect on what they saw and heard in the exhibition and during related events, compile data from the surveys and evaluate the outcome 2: Soomaal artists will be able to exhibit their work and be involved in community outreach events with audiences in Rochester and Southeastern Minnesota. RAC will survey visitors and audiences about their familiarity with Soomaal and its artists to see if they had previously been exposed to their work.
