Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Minnesota professional artists and arts organizations have more opportunities to tour their work throughout the state. Minnesota professional artists and arts organizations tour to communities and regions they haven’t previously visited.

Measurable Outcome(s)

During the 2012/13 season, Stuart Pimsler Dance and Theater toured to four Minnesota communities: Ely, Duluth, Northfield, and Detroit Lakes, presenting public performances, arts learning activities for students from elementary to college level, and community-inclusive offerings for diverse populations. As the presenter in Duluth commented, “I know the audience appreciated not only the dancing but the Q and A afterwards…the show generated an extremely positive response.” At each location, Stuart Pimsler Dance and Theater implemented its evaluation template which included post performance discussions (Stuart Pimsler Dance and Theater’s Talk/Piece), workshop evaluation forms, participant interviews, and responses from community leaders. 2: One of the goals of this project was to expand the company’s audience within Minnesota as well as to deepen the company’s relationship with other communities such as Ely and Northfield. This was accomplished through Stuart Pimsler Dance and Theater’s project activities such as movement classes and workshops for children and adults, Caring for the Caregiver workshops for hospice workers and home caregivers, and Life Stories workshops for residents of senior living facilities, in addition to the performances in each community. These community activities helped the local presenters expand their reach to new populations in their area. Activities were evaluated through Stuart Pimsler Dance and Theater’s evaluation matrix, including Talk/Piece, evaluation forms, interviews, and feedback from community leaders.
