ACHF Arts Education
1. Students will be able to follow written and spoken directions and successfully build a dulcimer. 2. Students will produce dulcimers that work and sound accurately. 3. Students will be able to play simple melodies together with others on a simple one-stringed dulcimer. 4. Students will be able to play simple harmonies and accompaniments to melodies. 5. Students will perform with their dulcimer for an audience of retired community members at the Kilowatt Community Center. Students will be observed to be sure they are meeting goals 1-4. Goal 5 will be assessed by attendance at the performance for The Golden Grands. This performance will be recorded.
All students had working dulcimers after the building portion of the project. Additionally they were all able to play the three songs we learned for performance and demonstrated simple melodies and harmonies during those performances.
