9: "Regional residents gain awareness and appreciation for a variety of artistic disciplines and mediums." Students in grades 9-12th band will be less intimidated by theater/musical theater/performing. Although specific skills will not necessarily improve based on this trip, the students' knowledge, attitude and behaviors should become more positive. Not only will those who attend be affected by that change, but other students in the band department will as well. They will see the increased positivity of those around them and thus, will become happier overall musicians. The following survey questions will be asked of the students before and after the trip: How often do you watch/attend musical theater? Do you attend professional musical events' Would you like to learn more about performing after high school? Students will be able to share their thoughts on the trip via fill in the blank survey questions. Success will be indicated by a more positive attitude toward music and musical theater in the survey answers after the trip.
