Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

An outdoor market will increase access simply because of its location and availability to the public. Sometimes people are reluctant to enter our gallery but everyone will attend a market and listen to a free concert. Our success will be determined by the number of artisans/makers participate and the number of customers and audience members attend these monthly events.

Measurable Outcome(s)

The Makers Market was very successful with many shoppers enjoying the live music and making purchases. The venue along the Minnesota River was a perfect setting and many people commented on that. Attendance at each event and vendors' numbers were both more than anticipated. The success of the markets has encouraged the arts council to make this an annual event and add more hands on projects and art classes next summer. Some first time vendors commented that this gave them the courage they needed to sell their products in other places.
