As a result of this project, individuals in the Crookston community will see how fragile unity is and feel a stronger urgency to embrace diversity which will help remove some of the barriers of unity. Evaluation will occur through a followup meeting with key project planners, the building owner, and city officials, by engaging with participants to describe their experience, and by personal observation notes.
I planed to measure the outcome of the mural project based on reflections and comments from the community. The outpouring of appreciation and thankfulness was overwhelming! Throughout the process the number of people who shared thoughts of unity and diversity with me were very encouraging and at the completion of the project the responses were joyful and hopeful. The local radio station and news paper both shared multiple articles each of the project's timely message of unity and diversity.
