We are incredibly fortunate to have international leaders in string instruction who have connections to other world class musicians and teachers. We wish to take advantage of their passion and energy to benefit our students, our program and our community. We believe that positive role models help students understand pathways to high achievement. By giving youth access to excellence, we create opportunities for inspiration. Expected benefits: - Boosting recruitment for the string program - Bringing community together through group activities - Increasing the awareness of the importance of music and art - Accessing high quality performances - Cultivating a sense of belonging to an artistic community - Inspire artistic excellence - Create a replicable program by engaging rotating members and guest artists in other communities. Outcomes: 1) Numbers of attendees who sign up for the string program 2) Number of survey responses that indicate a positive experience TCCC envisions this camp as a prototype to be replicated around the world. Discussions about camps in Madison, Poland and India have begun. To that end, evaluation is high priority. We will use three separate surveys. Students, parents and audience members will be asked to rate their agreement with 3-5 positive outcome statements and include a comment section. In addition, we will solicit feedback during the camp. In the 2021 camp, verbal feedback was most beneficial. Important changes based on feedback from last year was the addition of an adult camp and the addition of an administrative position to manage logistics. The Monday following the camp, we will hold a staff meeting to go over surveys and obtain feedback from the teachers. The ED will distribute meeting notes, a survey summary and a financial report to TCCC which will be used for 2023 planning. Compiling the number of attendees that sign up for the string program will done at registration.
