ACHF Arts Education
Goals - Artistic design appreciation, engagement, and learning - Underserved communities reached through access to arts education - Increased visibility of the museum and commitment to the arts - Providing support to a local artist while they enrich the vibrant art culture in our community Outcomes - David will be a positive influence on children and their caregivers in the importance of the arts and how it influences their everyday lives. - Children will engage in creative activities in the area of art and design and will create their own typeface using an assortment of tools, materials, and techniques. - Children will learn how design can influence reading/writing activities and will gain an appreciation for the aesthetics of familiar items. - Children will have the opportunity to compare and contrast different styles of design and see how design works for good or hinders ease of use. - Over 2,000 visitors will participate in David's residency. In order to determine the success and impact of the project, the museum will use both outcome evaluation and process evaluation tools. Using an established visitor tracking system, the museum will determine the number of visitors to the museum and visitor participation in 2020 Arts in STEAM Artists in Residency program. This includes daily attendance figures, number of field trip bookings, numbers of memberships, and numbers of participants in programs. Process evaluation will be implemented through the use of surveys and observation/reporting to determine the qualitative success of the project. The museum will gather feedback from program participants, parents, and teachers. Interviews with volunteers and program partners will be conducted, and staff and board members, and community members will observe and report on the installation, performance, and overall impact.
