Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

We are incredibly fortunate to have international leaders in string instruction who have connections toother world class musicians and teachers. We wish to take advantage of their passion and energy to benefit our students, our program and our community. We believe that positive role models help students understand pathways to high achievement. By giving youth access to excellence, we create opportunities for inspiration. Expected benefits - Boosting recruitment for the string program - Bringing community together through group activities - Increasing the awareness of the importance of music and art - Accessing high quality performances - Cultivating a sense of belonging to an artistic community - Inspire artistic excellence - Create a replicable program Measurable outcomes: 1) Numbers of attendees who sign up for the string program 2) Number of survey responses that indicate a positive experience Surveys will be distributed to students and parents. We received 100% response from students by distributing surveys during a class! A positive comment and a constructive criticism item and a letter grade for the camp were requested. Our average was A-. The biggest complaint was the quality of the school's free lunch! Parents offered more constructive feedback. Responses were positive, but suggestions that we could implement including eliminating Sunday activities and moving the date were helpful! We will add an interview with teaching staff. Local teachers have provided informal feedback, but they are not there for the debriefing. Dege will ask the teachers who come to lead sessions in voice, visual arts and movement to provide feedback. Buffy Dege will compile surveys, financial information and program enrollment numbers. A meeting will be held to review that information with TCCC and IOSP staff to evaluate successes and improvement areas. Results will be shared with the BOD.
