Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

By taking part in NLOKids theatre camp, children from Pine Point and Park Rapids will gain significant knowledge about playwriting, acting, song-writing and design by working with theatre professionals on a production of their own play with music. Through the process of working and creating together, children from both communities will gain trust and respect for each other, as well as an awareness of their creative potential. Devoting resources to realizing their creation increases their confidence. Before camp, participants fill out questionnaires to measure their pre-knowledge of theatre-making. This will be done through Google Forms as a part of the application process and on paper for those without easy access to internet. During camp, students will have notebooks to keep their creative work (writing, design, and characters). We will document stages of the process through photos. On the day of performance, we'll interview students to gauge knowledge and self perception in theatre-making.

Measurable Outcome(s)

As a result of the NLOKids Theater Camp, 26 children from the Pine Point and Park Rapids communities experienced extensive growth in understanding of playwriting, composing, set design and performance through hands-on creative exercises and direct work wi
