1. The dancers and instructors who take part in this workshop will learn new dance skills. 2. They will create a unique piece that incorporates their experiences during the workshop which will be shared during the final showcase. 3. Through the workshop, we will bring two dance communities together, while giving participants a chance to experience the outdoors and its connection to art. We will give a follow-up survey to participants, instructors, and audience members to help us determine if we have accomplished our goals. The survey will ask the participants about the new dance skills they learned, as well as their overall reactions to the workshop activities. We will collect this data to help us understand the experiences of the participants. The piece that is created during the evening workshops will be a collaborative one that will share the experiences from the workshop with our audience. The survey of audience members will ask questions to help us understand how the piece affected their thinking. The survey questions will include: What new skills did you learn as a result of this workshop? What was your favorite dance class or session that you participated in during the workshop? What connections did you observe or make during the workshop with new people? How did the outdoor activities in nature contribute to the experience?
