Nurture community and bridge differences in our student body by creation of visual imagery that represents and celebrates the richness of our diversity. We will track this through: 1) Number of participants, 2) Evaluations of project participants (pre and post) focused on their experience of connecting with new people through project participation and their sense of feeling welcomed on campus. 2: In the design and painting process, we will develop relationships while teaching high level mural skills and the final product leaves a legacy landmark. We will know we have achieved this through; 1.the mural reflects high artistic quality, 2.participants demonstrate new artistic skills and, 3.the project celebration attracts a diverse population of the campus community.
We built community across our entire campus by creating a beautiful mural that celebrates the richness of our diversity. We kept records of participants and continuously engaged with students, staff and faculty, through conversations, about the quality of their participation experiences. 2: We developed a core of students as 'mentees' who learned high level mural and public leaderships skills. The finished product is the clearest example of meeting our goals. The students voices in our video are also clear evidence of meeting our goals. The number of students, staff and faculty who created the mural is also evidence.
