Anne Sullivan School will expand its partnership with the Children's Theatre Company with two residencies, using theater and storytelling strategies to create, perform, and respond to stories of marginalized Minnesotans.

Participants develop their theatre arts skills by creating, performing and responding to oral storytelling using their body, voice and imagination. Evaluation will include administration of an acting rubric measuring performers' knowledge and use of acting skills, aligned with national theatre arts standards. A teacher survey will also be utilized to collect teacher input on participant growth. 2: Participants gain a deeper understanding of self and their diverse peers by engaging with stories centering voices of marginalized Minnesotans. Evaluation will include administration of a teacher survey to collect teachers' perceptions of growth in students' interest, knowledge, and confidence in discussing the diverse lives of their peers in comparison with their own.
Participants developed their theatre arts skills by creating, performing and responding to oral storytelling using their body, voice and imagination. Via an acting rubric, 80% of youth met/exceeded benchmark for body, voice and creativity. Youth growth perceptions were collected in interviews and large group reflection: ?I was shy but now I?m brave.? ?We didn?t even need a mic we projected so loud!?. 2: Participants gained a deeper understanding of self and their diverse peers by engaging with stories centering voices of marginalized Minnesotans. 100% of teachers agreed via survey that students made gains in their interest/confidence in discussing the diverse lives of their peers compared to their own. One student said he was grateful Somali stories were shared and enjoyed by peers.
