Hopewell Music will collaborate with North Minneapolis Nellie Stone Johnson elementary school in a yearlong instrumental experience, entitled Proud to be a Northsider, that culminates in a public performance.

Students improve skills and ability for positive self-expression in the arts. The teaching artist will track outputs of the project (student contact hours, songs learned, skill evaluation) and individual expression exhibited within the course of the arts learning experience. 2: Students and/or Nellie Stone Elementary improve connections to student community as a result of arts learning The teaching artist will track project effectiveness at impacting community, inclusion, and respect for the unique identities of others as measured by student, teacher and parent survey tools and parent attendance at the showcase.

Qualitative evaluation conducted during student contact hours, the list of songs learned, skill evaluation by teaching artists. 2: Students of Nellie Stone Johnson Elementary improved connections in their student community as a result of music programming. Anecdotal evaluation was provided by the teaching artists.
